When you think of sparkle, the first thing that comes to mind when talking about clothing is sequins. Sequins are always the go-to look when going to a fancy dinner, a New Year’s Eve party or even a glam night out. But what about adding some sparkle during the day? Seems very daunting, but a full sequin dress can definitely work in broad daylight. All you gotta do is dress it down.
Dressing down is really simple. You just have to add a casual element to your outfit to tone it down. There are various ways to do it depending on how “dressed down” you want the overall look to be. Pairing your sequins with sneakers, chunky boots, jean jacket, sweatshirts, t-shirts are excellent ways to give it a more casual vibe while still maintaining the razzle dazzle.
The day I rocked this look I was invited to Pandora’s Spring Summer 19 presentation. Pandora is known for their glamorous and dainty jewellery so I wanted to go for a look that was just as sparkly but without it looking too formal. So I opted for Dr. Martens to pair with my sequin dress and added a edginess to my style.
