No, you don't need to have the perfect bod to rock a skin tight one piece. You don't need to be a ballet dancer either. Thanks to Instagram another trend has emerged. I'm talking about the Catsuit ( also known as the unitard ).A unitard is a skintight, one-piece garment with long legs and sometimes long sleeves, usually stopping at the wrists and ankles. There are plenty of styles to choose from now but the main idea is that it is supposed to fit like a glove. While wearing a unitard takes a heavy dose of confidence, you can totally make it street style appropriate and wear it carefree. The key is : layering. You can wear them underneath slouchy sweaters, dresses. You can also tie a flannel shirt around the waist to tone down the look or if you are more daring like me simply layer it with a cropped jacket and pair with military style boots. Add a cool pair of sunnies and you are good to go. Another tip is to go with darker colors when choosing a catsuit. That's a definite no-no for nude or really bright colors. Remember it is quite a revealing piece on its own so there is no need to draw even more attention. The only negative when wearing a uni is it's not conducive for quick bathroom trips. Yeah, you will have to get half naked to pee. But same goes for jumpsuits so it's no biggie.
