It's sporty, it's chic and urban. The Varsity jacket is mostly known as a traditional staple at high school and college but gained high popularity in the fashion scene when Michael Jackson rocked it in the 80's. Ever since it's been seen on numerous runways such as Alexander Wang and Givenchy.
I love its tomboyish aesthetic and the fact that it can be worn in so many ways. These jackets can be oversized or cropped and fitted and can be paired with jeans, dresses, any type of skirt, edgy accessories....well just anything basically. It.'s a great piece to own in your repertoire, as it's a fantastic alternative to a basic blazer or motorcycle jacket, Keep it simple: Wearing lots of layers can make your varsity jacket seem bulky.Stick to a sleek, simple silhouette.
Since I'm a fan of the leather and something else combo, I wore my jacket with faux leather leggings and a bralette/crop top. I didn't want the look to be very athletic so I opted for my cute lace-up, open toe booties. This way I get the right balance of tomboy, feminine and edgy.
