Yes, I’m fully aware that it’s cold outside. That doesn’t mean that wearing shorts in winter is a no-no. In the world of fashion it’s all about styling. Anything can work as long as you know how to work with it.
The shorts-in-cold weather look is a combination of super chunky sweaters, long warm socks and bundling up in cozy knitted layers. If you’re going to expose your legs then make sure your upper body is full covered.
Basically there are 3 ways to wear shorts in cold weather:
- With tights. If it’s not too cold then sheer tights will do the trick but in freezing weather you can resort to opaque tights (best option).
- With over-the-knee boots. The look I opted for today is the easiest option. Pair them with high waisted shorts and over sized chunky knit for a chic and edgy result.
- With knee-high or over-the-knee thick socks. This style looks best with ankle booties.
If you don’t want to go with short shorts then knee length shorts also look quite chic.Just avoid pairing these type of shorts with knee-high or over-the-knee boots. Instead wear sneakers, ballarinas, ankle boots.
