fitness-tips

You probably KNOW how important it is to work out if you want the body of your dreams and to improve your health. It’s easier said than done and many of us stick to a workout regime for a little while before failing. We all make excuses to avoid working out but this needs to stop. Let’s take a look at the 6 most common excuses for skipping your workout and how you can get over them!

1. I don’t have time

Everybody has time to workout if they make the time to do so. All you need is 20 minutes or so spare a day, that isn’t very much time at all! Why not wake up 20 minutes earlier in the morning or skip that trashy tv show that you love to watch?

2. I don’t know what routine to do

Whether you are exercising at the gym or from the comfort of your own home, there are many different workouts you can do. You don’t have to be a perfect gym bunny who knows how to use every piece of equipment. Look on websites like Pinterest and Instagram to get ideas on what routines to do, there are many available that you can adapt to you. There are thousands of YouTube workouts you can try which are effective.

3. I eat bad today anyway

Nobody has the perfect diet all the time and if you do have a bad day eating-wise, exercise will actually make you feel better. It’s better to workout and burn some calories rather than doing nothing at all. Self sabotaging yourself is going to get you anywhere so don’t do it!

4. I don’t have the motivation

We all go through bad patches in terms of motivation but you need to get that motivation in whatever way you can. If you take care of yourself whether that be through eating well,

giving yourself a pamper night or buying workout clothes – this is going to help give you the motivation for workouts. Why not buy a brand new outfit in your ideal size and hang it somewhere that you have to see it every day.

5. I’m still sore from the previous day

When you feel sore after a workout, that’s a good sign because it means you did it well. If you have sore legs, then work out your arms until they feel better. Not everything has to be strenuous so if your body isn’t feeling as good as it should, stick to something low impact the next day.

6. It’s boring

If you don’t like what you are doing in terms of exercise, then switch it up and try something new. Not all exercise is boring, it’s just about finding something you enjoy. There are so many different workouts to choose from including swimming, dancing, running, HIIT, sports and a whole lot more. Experiment until you find what you enjoy and this will make the whole process of losing weight, much easier.
